Whether engaging online, attending a live event like FiDCon, or participating in any associated activities, we expect everyone—attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, partners, and staff—to uphold these standards of respectful and constructive behavior. By adhering to this Code of Conduct, we can ensure that our community remains a safe and inspiring place for all.

Expected Behavior

• Respect and Inclusivity: Treat everyone with courtesy and kindness. Avoid language or actions that are hateful, discriminatory, or offensive based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or any other characteristic.

• Constructive Communication: Engage in dialogue that supports learning and growth. Offer criticism in a helpful, tactful manner and be open to differing perspectives.

• Professionalism: Maintain professionalism in all interactions. This includes using appropriate language, refraining from disruptive behavior, and honoring the purpose of the community and events.

• Collaboration and Support: Encourage a collaborative spirit. Help others grow, share knowledge, and celebrate each other’s achievements.

Unacceptable Behavior

• Harassment and Discrimination: Harassing language, unwanted physical contact, intimidation, stalking, bullying, or any form of discrimination will not be tolerated.

• Hate Speech: Use of slurs, derogatory terms, or content that promotes hate or violence against particular groups is strictly prohibited.

• Sexual Harassment: Unwelcome sexual attention, explicit propositions, or content of a sexual nature without consent is not acceptable.

• Disruptive Behavior: Intentionally derailing discussions, creating excessive distractions, or causing disruptions that undermine learning and engagement is prohibited.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all spaces hosted by or associated with thedsgnjunkies, including but not limited to:

• In-person events such as FiDCon and workshops

• Online platforms and forums, including social media groups, messaging channels, and virtual events

• Communications in emails, direct messages, or other digital correspondence facilitated by thedsgnjunkies

Reporting and Enforcement

• Reporting: If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it as soon as possible. Reports can be made to community@thedsgnjunkies.com. All reports will be handled confidentially to the fullest extent possible.

• Response: thedsgnjunkies team will review all complaints and take appropriate action, which may include a warning, suspension, or permanent removal from events, platforms, and communities.

• Appeals: If you believe that a report has been handled unfairly, you may appeal the decision by contacting community@thedsgnjunkies.com.

Consequences

Those found to be in violation of this Code of Conduct may face consequences such as:

• A verbal or written warning

• Temporary suspension from participating in events or online spaces

• Permanent ban from future events, online communities, and any thedsgnjunkies-related platforms

• In severe cases, referral to local law enforcement if required by applicable laws
